Back, but just about there
I cannot not write for a long time. So many thoughts keep coming to my mind at any given point, that its hard to hold it down. I am not a great fan of writing a dairy, i am just too lazy to take up a pen and my handwriting is so bad that i would find it hard to read it myself.
To get out of a mood slump that i have been expereincing for quite sometime now, i did a great thing this saturday. I bought records of all time hits of Pink floyd, Led Zepplen, Dire straits, Simon and Art Garfukunel, Bod Dylan and our very own Desi Woh Lamhe. I just drowned myself in music for about 6 hours playing an assortment of these songs and what a refreshingly satisfying expereince it was. I am not a great observer of music, i hardly understand it to make a statement, but the damn thing heals.
Pink Floyd is all mood isnit. I had the lyrics on my hand and try to hum it along as Gilmour or Waters sung those songs, but after a while found out lyrics were all crap and didnt make any sense. What's important is mood. Those songs were probabaly composed while losing ones mind, and you hardly make sense when you lose your mind. Thats the attitude you need to enjoy pink floyd, the mood, the dark sarcastic mood . I just switched off the light and closed my eyes and savoured the music, it was an overwhelmingly satisfying expereince.
Bob Dylan on the other hand is all lyrics. If you dont understand the message behind the gods music you just wont get it. It can really be a underwhelming experience.
Simon and Art garfukenel's music are so minimalisitc, that you wonder whats the big deal. But they grow on you and the simplisity of the music gets all the more attractive.
Lastly after brushing through Romeo and Juliet, i reached our very own desi Woh lamhe. I saw the movie sometime back and the most impressive thing i found was the music so went ahead and bought it. There are moments when music speaks for you rather than to you. I expereinced that moment when Glen John sung in an amazingly haunting voice " Main Zinda hoon lekin zindagi kaha hai". My day was done.
